Richard B. Cheney has served as a public servant over a number of years, and is also a successful businessman. He currently serves as the Vice-President of the United States. Cheney was well-known on the Washington political scene. George W. Bush was his Fourth U.S. President. Bush named Cheney as his vice-presidential running mate in 2000, due to Cheney's intelligence and judgment. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff to presidents. He also worked for the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense and served his country in many capacities. Republicans as well as Democrats all respect his honesty. Cheney has said that he regards his job as a trustworthy yet discreet advisor to the Bush administration. Cheney declared his delight at being nominated for the Republican vice-presidential nod. He said that he is looking forward working alongside a president who will work together with people of different political views and with the same goal. Richard Bruce Cheney (born January 30th, 1941) was the son Richard Herbert Cheney. His mother, Marjorie Lauraine Dickey had been engaged with Richard Herbert Cheney for over thirty years. When Richard Bruce Cheney was 13 the family of Richard Bruce Cheney left Lincoln Nebraska and moved to Casper Wyoming in the state where his father was the head of his position as the head of U.S. Department of Agriculture's local soil conservation districts.
