Jenna Fischer was best known for portraying Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on television. Her role on The Office brought her an Emmy nomination in the best supporting Actress category and she also received two SAG Awards, both for extraordinary performances on an ensemble comedy.
She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but her family was primarily from St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna was awed by her mother, Anne, perform in church plays when she was young and was able to instill a love of performing and theater.
She's a trained actress who was back in theater following The Office. She played Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway production Reasons to Be Happy. She then starred in Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist production starring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's first world premiere.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer created Office Ladies, a podcast hosted by Earwolf in October 2019. The show has been an enormous success, making its Top Ten worldwide every week as well as receiving over 200 million downloads in its first two-years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in the month of January in 2021.
She is the writer of two books: The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide, in which she details her journey to St. Louis to Hollywood in order to be a professional actor, as well as the upcoming Office BFF's: Tales of The Office From Two of the Best Friends who were there (co-authored by Angela Kinsey), which is an account of their most memorable friendship and time working in The Office.
